Naomi MadduxA self-taught stained glass artist, Naomi began her craft when she was bequeathed the contents of a small glass shop. At the same time, she and her husband Rick Maddux of Albatross Woodcrafters had begun building their own straw bale home using natural and reclaimed materials.

With little instruction, she began by creating her own designs for fixed stained glass windows and door lights for the house. She then experimented with using scrap glass for mosaic countertops, drawer fronts, pulls and inlay. Over time, their home has become a canvas for their individual and collaborative imaginations.

Naomi then approached architect Alice Starek of Alma Designs for a commission piece for their Denver loft. Alice is dedicated to hiring local artisans and trades people to bring her designs to life. It was this initial collaboration that sparked a challenge and freedom for Naomi to create pieces that were both sculptural and architectural.

Naomi is also a Feng Shui Consultant, Professional Organizer, and Singer-Songwriter. She is a member of the Rocky Mountain Architectural Artisans Guild. She works out of her home studio in the mountains of Colorado.
